Advertising is part of Singapore’s cultural history. It reflects the society and the point in time in which it was produced, as well as chronicling the development of companies and brands which have contributed to the vibrant economy of this island.
Sadly, much of what has been produced in terms of advertising, posters, packaging and early television and radio advertising has been lost.
Through this archive, we are hoping to preserve this heritage by collating Singapore advertising examples since the 1800s to the present day. Each year, new material will be added. We believe historians, students of sociology and communications and the general public will find this a useful source of knowledge, inspiration and perhaps entertainment.

Newly appointed marketing directors will find the Archive helpful as a record of the brand and its competitors. Also, this site is an efficient a depository of future advertising activity.
The founder and curator, Allein Moore, himself a veteran ad man, would like to thank the Business School, Temasek Polytechnic, the National Archive of Singapore and AdAsia magazine for their encouragement and support as well as the advertisers and agencies who have been generous with their material. He also thanks the individuals who have contributed their memories of the business in earlier years and salute the outstanding figures of yesteryear who helped grow this important industry in Singapore.
The Advertising Archive Asia is a not-for-profit site, funded privately and by donations and grants. We allow sponsored category corporate messages but will not accept advertisements nor allow the use of content for commercial purposes. Any excess funds will be used for industry-linked scholarships or used for educational purposes. The Advertising Archive is guided by a rotating board of advisers made up of prominent individuals from the industry.
AAA offers the site programming to other countries in the Asia Pacific region, to encourage our neighbours in region to preserve their own advertising heritage. AAA will appoint a curator in each country.
